Conservation - PERU
Daily Life

This is the basic routine that you will be following during your stay at Taricaya but there are always variations that depend upon the workloads of some projects or when we go on trips and expeditions. As you will discover some of our projects are seasonal and others are fixed throughout the year and so time restraints may require us to dedicate more time to a given project and hence cause changes in the schedule. Other times you may be staying at a different site as for example you will spend time working and staying at the farm project and there the work requires different time management.

However this general routine is the base for our work and you will soon fit into the rhythm. Evening activities also occur, although not every night, and these are more flexible and will involve night walks, lectures and some of the projects that require data collection after dark (e.g. the herpetology project).

We always encourage volunteers to get as involved as much as possible and so if you have a particular interest or enjoy doing one project more than another then there is no problem. You can always request to do what you enjoy most and the rota can be changed to accommodate you.
